About Casa Montessori School

frprty2.jpg (34535 bytes)The school opened in 1974 and operates under a chartered, non-profit corporation. Its purpose is the education of children, and tuition will be kept as low as possible without sacrificing the quality of education offered.

Gifts to the corporation are tax-deductible due to the non-profit structure of the school, and it is hoped that donations will help maintain low tuition's and provide for additional teaching materials and school enhancements.

Admission of students is based on parent-child interviews with the directress of the school. Children in the primary class are not expected to have a background in Montessori, but the upper levels of the primary class and those in the elementary class must have either a Montessori background or a demonstrated ability for the child to operate successfully in the atmosphere of a Montessori classroom. Children are accepted as students without regard to race, religion, sex or national origin.

There are half day sessions for the younger children in the primary class and full-day sessions for the older primary children and those in the elementary class.

All teachers are AMI-certified (Association Montessori International), and the school submits to periodic inspections to maintain its AMI affiliation. Children who attend Casa dei Bambini can be expected to make as much or more progress academically as they would in a traditional public or private school, meeting all requirements for advancement to high school.

Our Mission
Casa's mission is to motivate its students from within by a natural curiosity and love for knowledge. The goal of education should not be to fill the child with facts but rather to cultivate his/her own natural desire to learn.
